The life of a session musician is rarely easy. After consecutive tour cancellations and a stack of unpaid bills, Chloe Bennett fears her dream has come to an end.
Then everything changes.
Indie rocker Reid Ryder needs a replacement violinist for his tour. For Chloe, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. For Reid, it’s a checkmark off his list. Already battling addiction, guilt, and his inability to write new music, Reid's hopeful that things are finally falling into place.
But life is never predictable.
When the tour begins, he finds himself drawn to Chloe. She challenges and inspires him. Their onstage chemistry is electric. To the outside world, they’re the perfect match. To those involved, however, it’s not so simple. When Reid’s no longer sure that the future he planned is the one he wants, a choice must be made.
I received this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Today I’m revisiting one of my favorite 2015 reads 🙂 Brooklyn & Beale by Olivia Evans was my final book of 2015 and I really couldn’t have ended my reading year any better. Oliva is a kick-ass writer and should absolutely be on your radar!
Below is my review, a giveaway from Olivia, and all things Brooklyn & Beale <3
I loved the pull between Reid and Chloe; it was absolutely magnetic. Their friendship had a natural feel to it and I was dying to see it progress further. Knowing they had obstacles in their way made it difficult, but my fingers were crossed that Reid would wake up and follow his heart instead of doing what he felt he was “supposed” to do. I devoured this in two sittings since sleep got in the way, but I was thinking about Reid and Chloe as I drifted off to sleep. This was a must-read, angsty, bit-o-goodness that made me clutch my Kindle and happy sigh when I reached the end. I can’t wait to see what Oliva has in store for us next!
In three days, they would head back to the States. In three days, he would wake up and Chloe wouldn’t be there. The pit of his stomach twisted and his chest tightened. She wasn’t even gone, and he missed her already. Just the thought of being away from her, even though she was sitting right next to him, hurt more than Jess being on the other side of the world. It was the first time Reid truly began to realize just how far he’d fallen.
