There are many rules a priest can't break.
A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God.
I've always been good at following rules.
Until she came.
My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I'm twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.
I am a priest and this is my confession.
***Priest is a standalone, full-length novel with an HEA. For mature audiences only.***
I received this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
After a friend posted the synopsis to Priest I knew I NEEDED to read it; the taboo aspect reeled me in like a fish. This story made me feel; it made me think. While some may find the subject of a priest going against his vows wrong, the way Sierra has this story unfold made me think that perhaps it’s not so wrong after all. Yes, there’s OH MY JESUS hot sex, like turn your AC on 68 so your room is like an igloo so you don’t combust hot sex, but it’s a gripping story of two people that met by chance (or divine intervention) trying to desperately fight their genuine feelings for one another because of what society deems acceptable. My heart broke every time Tyler or Poppy voiced their feelings for the other despite them knowing they could never be. Tears streaming down my face heartbreak! They were so perfect for the other and made each other so, so happy I didn’t care that Tyler broke his vows. I didn’t care that, technically, what they were doing was immoral; I didn’t care about any of the things I probably should have because all I cared about was them finding a way to make things work. If that makes me a terrible person, so be it. Sierra made my angst loving heart happy with Priest and gave me so much more than the sexy story I was expecting; I look forward to whatever else is in store from her, and catching up on her backlist.
