FINALLY One More Chance is here! In Take a Chance, we saw how Grant and Harlow’s relationship began, and now, in One More Chance, be sure to buckle up for the emotional conclusion!

Title: One More Chance
Author: Abbi Glines
Publisher: Atria Books (September 2, 2014)

Synopsis

Grant Carter did everything in his power to convince Harlow Manning that he was a good guy. More than a smooth-talker and someone she could trust. He had to overcome his reputation as a playboy, and his history with Harlow’s half-sister, Nan, a woman with a reputation of her own.
Harlow had taken the chance, falling hard and fast for the guy who thrilled her with his all-consuming desire. After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, she had opened herself to the possibilities of love…
But a life-changing secret has torn them apart, and now Grant and Harlow must decide if they have enough fight to make it work – or if the pain of betrayal has permanently destroyed their future.

My Review

I’d been dying to find out how Grant and Harlow’s story continued and Abbi didn’t disappoint. We discover Harlow’s secret in chapter one and I was glad for that, I had my suspicions and needed to know if I was right. Turns out I was right, and I was excited to see how things played out! What ensued next was 3 ½ hours of Abbi causing my emotions to be all over the place. I love Grant for the way he’s grown up from the very first time I met him in Fallen Too Far; as for Harlow she’s always been on the mature side but here she impressed me with her determination and strength. She put her foot down and took complete control of her situation, she did what she felt in her heart was best and I respected the hell out of her for it. For the majority of the time I was smiley and happy with the developments between Grant and Harlow and how they faced their challenges together. Always together! As for the rest of the time, I was gutted! There were parts that rendered me a sobbing mess. There was no consoling me. There came a time in the book where I had a complete OMG moment concerning Nan! Nan does something VERY un-Nan like and I was left shocked, yet suspicious of Nan’s motives. I mean, this is Nan after all, there’d be something wrong with me if I didn’t question her motives. Abbi actually managed to make me kind of, sort of, possibly not hate her as much. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never be a member of the We <3 Nan club but it makes me wonder if that nasty bi*ch DOES have redeemable qualities. Abbi’s given me characters I love to love and a villain I love to hate. I look forward to catching up with the rest of the characters in the future books in the Rosemary Beach series.
