#LetItGoDay September 3, 2014

Posted September 3, 2014 by Holly in / 3 Comments

#LetITGo day all stemmed from Ann Aguirre’s title, I WANT IT THAT WAY. One of the characters finds freedom when he lets something go that he had been holding on to. In the book, you see him physically do something to represent the act of letting it go and then finding peace. While reading, KP’s wheels started turning! We all need to have a day to let things go. We’ve all had those moments when things play over and over in our head, when we hear the whispers of being told we’re not good enough, when we find ourselves paralyzed by something. Some of us are affected by this in ways we think others could not possibly understand. So…#LetItGo day was formed. In the midst of ugly and dark things happening all around, we want to focus on freedom and finding peace. And September 3rd, 2014 is that day. Share a time you had to #LetItGo. Whatever…but this world has a lot of heartache. And we don’t have to hold on to things. We want freedom and peace to reign! So join in on September 3rd and #LetItGo!

There’s a Twitterchat using the hashtag #LetItGo on September 3rd from 8-9pm EST, and everyone is welcomed to join in the fun! Hosting authors will be:
Ann Aguirre
Megan Hart
Nyrae Dawn
Lauren Dane
Monica Murphy
Share your #LetItGo moments and stories, ask authors questions and celebrate with us!

For me, I think the thing I need to let go of the most is my worry that I’m the worlds sh*ttiest blogger. I work full time and have other things going on so some times I miss posting sales as they happen or I may not be able to share blog post links until after I get home from work…after most bloggers have already posted the same material. It used to bother me A LOT feeling behind but with the way Facebook’s reach has declined I’ve learned to let that go reminding myself that other readers work too and may have missed those early morning/afternoon posts. Today I’m letting go of my fear of my reviews, I always wonder “does anyone even read my reviews?” “Does my opinion really matter?” I’m the first to admit my reviews tend to ramble because I fear I may include an accidental spoiler. And, despite being well spoken when I need/want to be, my reviews never really quite sound that way in my opinion. As I enter my 2nd year of blogging I’m going back  to the beginning and writing my reviews for me; no more worrying if anyone likes what I have to say or if it sounds “proper.” I write reviews for me and because it’s fun, and me and fun is all I need to worry about.
