Top Debut Authors of 2013

In no particular order here are a few authors that hit publish for the first time in 2013.  I’ve read each author listed and while some may be on your radar, some may not and I’m hoping to change that! You may see some of their books/series on my favorite books of 2013 list, and you may not. Either way, these ladies are definitely worth checking out! Clicking on their names will take you to their Goodreads page for further book stalkage 🙂

M.J. Abraham– her debut, Happenstance was a sweet, fun light hearted read for me. I also liked book 2, Resplendent, it was an angsty, sexy second chance at love story.
Claire Contreras– There Is No Light in Darkness/Darkness Before Dawn and Catch Me (Catch Me is a stand alone) TINLID & DBD were fabulous, suspenseful and an overall great mind screw!  Catch Me just caught me and didn’t let me go till I hit the last page.
Melody Grace– Her Beachwood Bay series is one of my favorites. The men are sexy and the writing is romantical.
Monica Murphy– Drew + Fable…enough said.

Gail McHugh– Holy Jesus, Gavin Blake! When I read Collide, I didn’t move for nearly 7 hours. My rear end fell asleep countess times and I ignored my growling stomach until I was done. The ending had me saying “Fuuuucccckkkkkkkkkk!!!” I pretty much did the same thing with Pulse except the ending made me say Yay!!!
Emma Chase– Tangled is a male POV like none other. Drew is a friggin piece of work and I absolutely love him. He’s funny, sarcastic and can be a real a**hole at times but I love him! He makes me laugh till I can’t beathe.
Rebecca Shea– Rebecca managed to emotionally cut me with Unbreakable and this one line from Gabe turned me into a sobbing, snotting mess- “Don’t go,” I whisper. “Love me enough to stay.”
Melanie Dawn– So Much it Hurts had characters my age in a real life situation. The ending may not have been the standard HEA but real life doesn’t always happen that way. I loved that she wasn’t afraid to be different.

Harper Sloan– Have you read her Corps Security series? Hop them…or hop on Axel, Cage or Beck…either option is a good time!
J.L. Mac– Her Wrecked series keeps me on the edge of my seat! For me it’s sexy romance with a twist of suspense.
Christina Lee– Her debut, All of You was a must read for me the minute I saw our hero was the virgin in the equation! Christina dared to be different and I can’t wait for her next book.

Tasha Ivey– Tasha’s writing will make you feel each and every single emotion of her characters. Her characters are well developed and her stories grab me from start to finish.

Now on to one of my favorite subjects…the book boys!!!

My top book boyfriends of

2013

These are the guys that if they were real, I’d let them have their wicked ways with me 😉
They’re in no particular order. Except for #1 & 2 . I <3 Trip Douglas and Travis needs no explanation.
I managed to stop at 20. I figured 20 was a respectable total and I could still look myself in the eye in the morning lol

1.Trip Douglas from Rock the Beat by Michelle A. Valentine
What can I say? I’ve loved this cereal eatin rock star since I first met him in Rock The Heart. In his book, Rock The Beat, he just stole Holly’s heart 😉

2. Travis Maddox from Walking Disaster & A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire
It’s Travis, he needs no explanation

7. Cole Murphy from There is No Light in Darkness/Darkness Before Dawn by Claire Contreras
Cole is my sexy sports newscaster. He’s loving and attentive. And hot.

8. Park Reed from Before Now by Cheryl McIntyre
I love bad boys who show they can change for the right girl. Life threw him and Lucy a curve ball and he embraced it
9. Hunter Covington from Unafraid by Melody Grace
When Hunter wants something he doesn’t stop till he gets it, and his dominant streak was HOT!

Reed is my southern military gentleman. He makes me *sigh* with the things he says

20. Carmine DeMarco from Sempre Redemption by J.M. Darhower

My Drop everything to read authors

These are the author that, when they have a new release, I MUST read it that same day. I will forgo food to ensure I can one-click on their release day. Some are veteran authors while some may be newer ones. All I know is when I see their releasing, I NEED IT NOW!
*lets be real, if you follow me you know these 3 hold a special place in my heart*
Jamie McGuire Hellllooo she gave me Travis Maddox
J Sterling– I love her books even the two she may think no one has really read. I first discovered her a lonnggg time ago when In Dreams was free on Amazon. I figured, why not? If I didn’t like it, it was free. Turns out I really liked it and went on to Chance Encounters and she’s been stuck with me as a reader since.
Melody Grace– her stories are dreamy romantical for me and she writes a great hero
E.L. Montes– she had me smitten with Marcus and his and Mia’s story captivated me from start to finish
Courtney ColeDante’s Girl, Mia’s Heart, The Minaldi Legacy, Confessions of an Alli Cat & The Beautifully Broken series. I’ve read them and loved them
Monica Murphyagain, Drew+Fable, what more do you need. Her Billionaire Bachelor series is great too!
Emma Chaseeven with only one book and a short story under her belt, Tangled was all I needed to make Emma a must read
Heidi McLaughlinafter reading 4 of Heidi’s books in as many days, I’m hooked. Permanently.
Claire ContrerasI can’t get enough of her writing
Gail McHughthis woman can make me not bother with eating!
Steph Campbell & Liz Reinhardtindividually or together I love these two ladies and their books. They’ve perfected the art of co-writing. They know I refer to them as the Dynamic Duo and Steph & Liz do no wrong…I owe them that on a t-shirt
Cherrie Lynnshe’s my smutty book Queen. I met her in Vegas and bowed and curtsied to her. Literally. I then sat next to her and giggled-whispered “You’re Cherrie Lynn, you wrote about Ghost.” To which she sweetly smiled and nodded and said “I did.” Thankfully I didn’t geek out again the second time I met her.
Kelsie LeverichI love Kelsie’s metaphors and she speaks to my inner romantic. Every time!
Harper Sloanshe can’t write her Corps Security series fast enough for me. I LOVE her men and Sway. Sway is FAB-U-LOUS!

Collen Hoover– Slammed was that book that had such an effect on me, I knew from then on Colleen was a must read

Tammara Webber– I LOVED Easy and her Between the Lines Series are favorites. I’ll read anything she writes.

Now…what you’ve been waiting for!

my favorite reads of 2013
