Title: Catch Me
Author: Claire ContrerasGenre: Adult Contemporary RomanceRelease Date: November 17th, 2013
In the past, I’ve always been given everything I’ve wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I’ve experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It’s the one thing that can’t be bought. It can’t even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway.
Not until him.
Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found his place in it, I lost my way. He soared, while I spiraled down a destructive path.
I lost myself in more ways than I can count.
The ironic thing is that I didn’t realize how lost I was until he found me.
And now that he has, I have to wonder if he’ll stay around long enough to catch me.
Catch Me was fantastic, I love how Claire’s writing always causes me to have a ton of ideas swirling in my head a few chapters in but then I’m hit with the unexpected!
She truly is an excellent writer. Her stories make me anxious, I can’t put them down because I NEED to know what happens, they make me happy when things work out and I love that her heroines are strong fighters despite less than perfect childhoods. And her hero’s are just plain SEXY and HOT.
From the start I realized Catch Me was different than most of my books, Brooklyn, our heroine was the broken one while Nick was the put together one. On the surface it seems as if BK has had the perfect life, she grew up with a supermodel mother and a successful record label owner for a father. She wanted for nothing…except for a little love and affection from her parents. Her mother was a cold, cruel ogre for as long as she could remember and he father bothered with her simply because she had a great ear for spotting musical talent. Mom only bothered with her to tell her she was fat (she never was) or to slap her in a pretty dress and go make nice with whatever guy dad was interested in signing. I felt so bad for her, someone always wanted something from her, except for her brother and her cousin, Nina. The downside was her brother was older and not really around much and Nina lived across the country in NYC so unfortunately, like most rich kids with parents like hers, Brooklyn looses herself in partying and drugs with her friends, Ryan and Shea…the Ryan and Brooklyn journey was a tear jerker for me. We learn fairly early on what her relationship with Ryan is all about but wheeewww boy, when ALL the who’s, what’s, why’s, and how’s of their relationship surface, I was left a gasping, shocked mess! For me to explain any further or in a way that may make more sense would honestly be spoiling a HUGE piece of Brooklyn’s past soooo….moving on…
I loved Brooklyn and Shea’s friendship. They were always the constants in each others lives…until they almost weren’t and Claire made my heart drop to my toes and my stomach leaped to my throat and I could feel the tears start to form in my eyes. I tip my hat to you, Claire.
Mmmmm, lets talk about Nick…from the moment he sees Brooklyn he’s looking at her like he’s a starving man on death row and he wants her as his last gourmet meat to feast on. I kinda really liked that even after after that initial meeting, Nick continued to look at BK that way. Every. Time. You could cut the sexual tension between these two with a knife. When they finally get together I thought I needed to roll over and take a cold shower
“Tell me you’re mine,” he says, his voice a strained whisper. “Tell me that this-,” he says, fully sliding his cock into me, the fullness it provides making my legs shake uncontrollably. “Is mine”
Loved, loved, loved Nick!!! He knew BK needed to take things slow and it did make me wonder how he was so perceptive to that, and when we find out how/why he knew it was a total *gasp* “holy crap, I would’ve never saw that coming” moment! Even though Nick never pushed her, he made sure to let her know she wanted her. Badly. He was always whispering something in her ear, sometimes it was sweet, sometimes it was romantic and sometimes it was sexy and would make you shiver.
Catch Me is one of those book where you need to read it for yourself. There’s twists and turns you never see coming and talking about it is kind of hard to do especially when I don’t want to give anything away. I was talking about it the other day and I kept catching myself in time and growling in frustration lol. I finally told my friend just read it and then you’ll see how just one wrong word spoils the plot. So yes, read Catch Me for yourself. It’s full of drama, twists, turns, heartache, love, passion, and healing along with all that good stuff we all love <3
Catch Me gets 4 stars

Claire Contreras graduated with her BA in Psychology from Florida International University. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband, two little boys, and three dogs.
Her favorite past times are: daydreaming, writing, and reading.
She has been described as a random, sarcastic, crazy girl with no filter.
Life is short, and it’s more bitter than sweet, so she tries to smile as often as her face allows. She enjoys stories with happy endings, because life is full of way too many unhappy ones or ones that will scare the daylights out of her and have her looking over her shoulder at every turn. Like I said, she’s very random.
