A chance meeting with a stranger can turn your entire world upside down.
When Colton ‘Colt’ Bishop enters a bar in New York City, he has a plan. His job is to find an easy target and take her back to his place for a few days. He is working his way up the crime ladder doing a job he never wanted.
Lily Hilton has it all, but is hiding from a troublesome past. When she enters a bar downtown, and runs into her old high school crush, her entire world is turned upside down. She is determined to make him notice her, but that plan may work better than she expects.
Colton does not hesitate to take Lily home and use her as his new pawn, but their past begins to catch up with them as their secrets unravel and he must decide what is more important to him, protecting Lily or himself.
A dark and painful account of two lives drawn together by want and need, it takes us
from the present to the past through the memories of Cole/Colt Bishop.
The setting New York City and Colt is scanning the bar for his target, a rich beautiful
woman. Working for the mob takes talent and Colt has it, only this time he marks the
wrong woman, Lily Hilton.
When he realizes who she is memories of another lifetime with Rose sends him
over the edge. Rose and Cole had a history; she is the rich girl, the one who was molested
by her mother’s boyfriend, they became close friends in high school and he swore to protect her.
Cole lived on the wrong side of the tracks with an alcoholic father who beat his mother
he would never be good enough for Rose, so they met in secret, fell in love and
then she disappeared.
OMG, when these two get together not only do sparks fly, they ignite, it’s a miracle
the sheets didn’t go up in smoke! Cole’s waited a long time to be inside of Rose and
he does it with every part of his body; tongue, fingers, and his very large cock.
There isn’t an opening on Rose he hasn’t pleased, teased and claimed!
Then reality sets in, his job….decisions must be made ones that will place both
Rose and Cole in danger.
Pain, anger, love, suspense and smoldering sex will leave you holding
your breath trying to figure out who’s who, not all is, as it seems!
I’m rating this 4 stars **** even though the sex was amazing, there was too much
backtracking to the past, it made me dizzy, and it bothered me that he didn’t recognize
Rose at the bar, I mean he loved her and she caused him pain. She may change the color
of her hair, but her smile, her eyes, the sound of her voice that you don’t forget .
I liked Safe Word, it was quick read for me that held my attention from beginning to end. Told completely from Colt’s POV(which I loved) he starts us out in the present day as he’s in a bar looking for his next kidnapping victim. Enter Lily…Lily caught Colt’s attention when she walked in but since she wasn’t alone
Colt made no attempt to pursue her. As his luck would have it Lily did the pursuing, after walking out of the bar she ran after him to give him her number. He called, and after agreeing to meet up; Lily calls him by a name he hasn’t been called in YEARS, but he still has no idea who she is and just by things she’s said to him it’s apparent they did know each other years ago…I was hoping he would’ve remembered her when she called him by his old name but he does eventually remember her. Once he remembers her, he begins the past/present account of their life. Through this we learn that Colt isn’t the bad guy we thought he was, things/people aren’t always what they seem and he really does want to keep her safe just like he always promised. Safe Word is full of twists, turns, secrets, and lies every step of the way that made my poor heart beat with nervous anticipation! And I can’t forget the sex between Lily and Colt! That might make you need a fresh pack of batteries ladies! My only issue was the ending; I felt it was rushed. To go into detail would give away the ending but, I wish their story in the epilogue was a little more elaborated on. Other than that, this is another one of Teresa’s books that I really liked. I do like the fact that her books are a little on the “darker” side
I give Safe Word 4 stars
Safe Word was a breath of Fresh air. The concept of the story was very different, I was expecting a little more Dom/Sub relationship and I was not expecting the entire book to be through a guys POV. Which I LOVED! <3 When an author can write a guys POV so well that you feel lost in the emotions, this book is for you.
My body craved her even when my mind was telling me not to go near her.
Colt and Lily come from a long, painful past on both ends. Lily coming from an abusive stepfather and Colt being her secret knight in shinning armor, it was the bad boy/good girl relationship, but then the story went deeper. Colt is a very strong, powerful male with deep ties with Lily when he meets her down the road after she disappears when they were teenager’s.
“A rose by any other name smells just as sweet. Isn’t that the line?” Reality struck me like a brick to the face as her deep brown eyes came back to my memory.
Every time I read something new of Teresa’s, I’m always blown away. It seems like her work is getting better, darker, more fierce with each book. I love that. She isn’t afraid what people will think, it’s simply the story. You like it, great. You don’t, who cares. Teresa’s words stick out to me in the best way, there’s always something to remember from her stories. I’m always a fan of a nice dark book. There’s a lot of twists and turns throughout this story that I don’t want to give away. But I believe it’s definitely a MUST read. It might not be for the kind, soft soul, but you should read it and love it as much as I did.
I was Cole, the boy who fell in love with the untouchable girl.

I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney’s Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn’t resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I’d like to tell you a story.
