Ashton Garrison walked away from a privileged life in order to hide from the one thing she’s not willing to face. She knows she left behind a trail of pain, but in the long run, her betrayal will hurt less than the truth. She now has one goal: Live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. She has high hopes that a move to new surroundings will provide the escape she desires, but what Ashton doesn’t count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Sometimes, when love comes knocking, the pull is too strong not to answer. Suddenly, what she thought she wanted to escape from is what Ashton now wants more than anything.
Nathan Lockton has one mission: find his target and complete the task he was hired to do—no attachments and no emotion necessary. He’s done it over and over again. What he thought was a typical lost-and-found job has turned into a life examining moment as Nathan is forced to deal with something he has always ignored–his feelings. Now faced with a decision, Nathan must choose to either follow his heart or complete the job.
Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?
No Attachments is Tiffany’s first New Adult book and being a HUGE fan of all of her YA books I was a jumbled mix of curious and excited to see how her move into a different genre went…and I only have this to say about her genre jump…take note folks the NA genre has a new author in town and she’s taking names and kickin ass!
I really liked Ashton; she was a bit of a klutz and somehow seemed to do and say the most awkward things in front of Nathan but that’s why I liked her. She was normal because lets face it, how many of us have embarrassed ourselves in front of the guy we liked. Tiffany did a great job with Ash’s two best friends Tressa & Brittni, they were absolutely hysterical!!
After meeting and a “bumping” into each other Nathan & Ashton hit it off but since neither one “does” relationships they mutually decide to get together for No Attachment sex…BUT what they don’t know is the giant secrets the other is hiding. Let me tell you Nathan’s is a biggie!
Tiffany kept me entertained thru the whole story wondering what Ashton’s secret was/is and why she left her life of privilege for living in the sticks. (We do get the answers to that as well as finding out who Nathan really is)
Oh another character I adored was Ashton’s boss Fran; she owned the grocery store Ash worked at. Fran is a P-I-S-S-E-R and when I think of her Betty White comes to mind lol.
No Attachments had me hooked from page one; I read it in a sitting because heaven forbid I should put my Kindle down and pace myself to find out the ending…please, that would be absurd; I have no self control when it comes to good books!
NA has everything I look for in a good book; it made me laugh a lot, it made tear up, it made me root for the characters to get their HEA. It has fantastic characters, a story that at times I found myself saying “Noooooo, Tiffany please don’t do this to me.” No Attachments proves once again that for me, when I pick up a Tiffany King book to read I’m going to enjoy it from start to finish.
