Blog tour: Play With Me by Kristen Proby; the engagement party fromWill’s POV & giveaway!

Posted March 3, 2013 by Holly in Blog Tour, Reviews / 0 Comments

Will Montgomery is a successful professional football player and seemingly has it all. He’s not used to being told no, and certainly doesn’t take no for an answer. So when he turns his charms on his sister’s sexy rocker-chick friend Meg, he’s not only turned down, but met with open hostility, piquing his curiosity and libido. He’s determined to show her that he’s not the arrogant jock she thinks he is, and to get her into his bed.

Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him, or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?

Ok so if you’ve read Play With Me you remember the engagement party scene where our dear Meg had a bit too much to drink? Of course you do! Well, we got to hear her side and now it’s time to get Will’s take on things ;-D

“Here’s to orgasms, and the three I’m going to have tonight!” Natalie exclaims, and all the girls slam back another shot of tequila.
“Seriously?” I frown at Matt. “What’s up with the orgasms?”
“TMI!” Caleb yells at the girls, but they’re not paying attention. Meg’s gorgeous hazel eyes wander over to me, and then shift back to her drink as she answers a question about whether or not she’ll sing tonight.
God, she’s beautiful. I can still smell her on me from our encounter in the bathroom. Jesus, I was about to take her, right there, with my family within ear-shot. She has a body made for sex, but more than that, it’s those hazel eyes that have me fixated.
I want to know her better. Much better.
“You’re staring,” Matt murmurs.
“At what?” I ask, playing stupid.
“That fine little number,” he gestures with his glass of water and takes a sip. “And she keeps looking over here, but I don’t think she likes you.”
“Fuck off, man.” I shrug him off and take a pull on the warm beer I’ve been nursing all night. It’s fucking gross.
“Just saying,” Matt chuckles as Luke scoops Nat up in his arms to take her up to their room.
“I’m out too,” Meg slams one last shot, grabs her purse and stands unsteadily. Without giving it any thought, I rise from my chair and grip her slender arm in my hand.
“You’re not driving, are you?” Nate asks.
“I’ll call a cab,” she slurs, her eyes glassy.
Like hell you will.
“I’ll take you home.” Meg swings her head toward me, a cute frown creasing her brow.
“You drank too.” She’s wagging a finger in my face and I smirk.
“I had one beer. I’m fine.”
“Really?” She doesn’t look like she believes me. God, she’s cute.
“I’m in the middle of a season, Meg. I can’t drink much.” She sways a bit on her feet, so I steady her with my hands on her shoulders.
“What kind of season?” She asks, her nose wrinkled in confusion. Matt and Caleb snicker and the girls don’t hold back their giggles. I push her hair back behind her ear.
“Football,” I tell her.
“You want to play football?” She shakes her head adamantly and I can’t hold back my laugh. “I’m too drunk to play football.”
Is she for real?
“No sweetheart, I will play football on Sunday. With my team. Remember?”
“Oh yeah. You’re a football star.” She waves me off and then turns to her friends with a snort. “He’s a big time football player. Did you know?”
Natalie giggles at her. “Meg, you’re funny. I’m glad you’re hanging out with us again.”
I couldn’t agree more.
“You got her?” Caleb asks.
“Yeah, I got her.”
“Who you got?” Meg asks, tilting her head back to look up at me.
“You, drunk girl, come on.” I turn to lead her toward the elevator, but I feel a tug on my shirt.
“Um, Will?”
“Yeah?” I turn back to her and she’s staring down at her feet.
“I lost my feet.”
“You what?”  I laugh and pinch the bridge of my nose. Oh my God, this little thing is hilarious when she’s had a few too many.
Christ, I hope she doesn’t hurl in my car.
“I can’t find my feet.”
“Okay, I’ve got you.” I lift her effortlessly into my arms and grin down into her soft face.
“You don’t have to carry me.”
“If I want to get you in the car and take you home, I think I do.” She wraps her arms around my neck and snuggles into my neck and Holy Moses she smells good.
“I thought you wanted to play football.” She yawns and burrows even farther against my shoulder.
“Not tonight.”
“I think I’m drunk.”
“What was your first clue?” I chuckle and push the down elevator button. She feels so damn good in my arms and I can feel her already starting to drift off.
Yeah, I do believe I’ll be getting to know the beautiful Megan McBride better.
“Don’t make me hurt you, Mungumry.” She grumbles.
“Yeah, you scare me.”

*sigh* I think I’m more smitten with Will now!

My review:

I swear each book in Kristen’s With Me in Seattle series gets hotter as we go along, I didn’t think it was possible for me to love any of the men in her books more than Nate BUT I was WRONG! Will is fun and playful but he also has a strong sensitive side which we see a lot of here. He cares and worries about everyone he loves and for that you can’t help but fall in love with him. It’s easy to see how Meg fell, once she let herself. I wanted to dislike Meg simply because she was with Will and I was jealous, I admit but I couldn’t. She was fab-u-lous! I loved her fiesty-ness, sense of humor and her dirty mouth. Her and Will’s personalities complemented each other perfectly. Their relationship was fun and playful like them which I really liked and any issues they encountered they talked about and worked thru like adults…their relationship was also full of A LOT of hot moments like this

I kind of felt like this about Will Montgomery at times

The sex between these two was like no other there was

but my favorite moment was when Meg was finally able to tell Will how she felt about him

If you’ve read the previous books in the series you will not be disappointed by Play With Me and if you haven’t I can’t recommend them enough !
