Synopsis:
Victoria Rivera never expected to be a divorcee by the age of 25. She was supposed to spend the rest of her life with Eric, the handsome, successful lawyer who promised her the world. When the unthinkable happens, Victoria swears to herself that she will not be so easily duped again. Heartbroken and lost, she decides that she needs a fresh start, in a new city, far away from everything and everyone from her old life.

After getting burned the first time, the last thing on Victoria’s mind is love. But happenstance leads her to a chance encounter with Jared, a sexy, kind-hearted veterinarian who is determined to get under her skin and in the way of her plans.

Can she learn to open herself up again and give love a second chance? Or will her past get in the way of any future with Jared?

My Interview with MJ:

Joining me today is MJ Abraham, author of the recently released Happenstance. MJ thank you for being here, can I get you anything?
Since this is our first meeting I wanted to ask you a few questions to give your readers a chance to get to know you and your work better.
1. Happenstance is your first book, what inspired you to write it? Friends. I had the idea in my head for a while and decided to start jotting some of it down. They encouraged me to continue.
2. Is there any particular author or book that influenced you? Alexandra Jorge, she’s not published yet but you’ll hear about her soon 🙂
3. Do you have a specific writing style? I’m a mess. I go back and forth a lot.
4.Are there any authors that you would consider a mentor? Quite a few. I am nowhere near as talented as they are but I aspire to be. Tarryn Fisher, Katja Millay, and J.R Ward to name a few.
5. Happenstance’s title says A Second Chance #1, does that mean there’s going to be a book 2?
*crosses fingers you say yes lol* Can you tell us about it? YES! 2 will be Andres and Savannah’s story. You’ll see a little of Victoria and Jared as well 😉
*Yay!!! Does a little happy dance!*

My review:

After two years of marriage Victoriacatches her husband cheating on her, six months later she finds herselfdivorced and starting over. To give herself a fresh start she moves three hoursaway from her family and ex husband forcing herself to stand on her own, shemoves to Orlando near her best friend Maggie, where she finally begins hercareer as teacher (after she got married she became a stay at home wife) thelast thing she was looking for was a relationship, but after meeting the verycute, very single vet Dr Owens, things start to change despite the walls ofsteel she’s built up around her. Jared realizes he has his work cut out for himto show Victoria not all men are like her ex husband and he’s up for thechallenge. I enjoyed the the smart ass banter between the two of them just asmuch as I enjoyed the sweet romantics moments as well. I give the sex betweenthe two of them 2 thumbs up! If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted, fun, read try Happenstance; I give it 3.75 stars!
