For Prime-Werewolf Ember Stilwell, life has been far from normal. Decades ago, a vengeful Witch cursed her Pack, leaving the women of her line incapable of feeling love. When an organized group of immortal killers begin to stalk and capture wolves from her pack, she sets out on a path fraught with danger. Just when it seems the world as she knows it will be changed forever, she meets Collin, an Alpha Werewolf with a body built for sin. As her heart begins to heal, she comes to find that the demons of her past are not nearly as dangerous as the nightmares she will be forced to face in her future. Can finding her true love conquer all? Or will the ability to feel for the first time be overshadowed by losing everything else she holds dear?
When I was asked by Gena if I’d like to read and review Ember’s Curse I couldn’t get out a yes fast enough! While I do love my rock stars and bad boys I also LOVE paranormal (I always end up wishing stuff like that was real, I think it would be hot to be able to shift into a wolf, or have super vampy speed and never age) especially a good paranormal that grabs you from the starts which this one definitely did. I love that Gena gave us a nice mix of supernatural beings here; werewolves, vampires, witches, hybrids, Fae and I have to say she blended them into the story seamlessly!
Our main character Ember is awesome she’s a take no shit from anyone, even her Alpha leader…which kinda explains why she’s usually on his shit list but whatev he’s douchey as is his power hungry alpha mate Sylvia…in one scene she’s admiring her manicure and all I could hear is “get your lee press on nails outta my face” from the 2nd Chimpmunk’s movie lol) and Collin our sexy Adelphi pack leader is an alpha that would have any woman sitting up and begging *swoooooonnnnn* and when these two meet for the first time make sure your sitting down because the sparks and fur start flying, but in a completely hot and sexy way 😉 the secondary characters are equally awesome (no one’s putting these guys in a corner!)
I gotta hand it to Gena, she really did a fan-freakin-tastic job of taking you along Ember’s adventure to find out who’s got it in for her pack; she’s blended magic and all sorts of mystical elements perfectly!
I always find it hard to talk about paranormal stories because for some reason I’m always more paranoid about giving spoilers away than I am with other books and I truly hate to ruin this for anyone because it really is such a great book. In addition to awesome characters, there’s action, and magic topped with hot steamy loving between Ember and Collin. If you’re a paranormal fan I highly suggest you give Ember’s Curse a read and if you haven’t read this genre before, this book would be a great one to start with
I give Ember’s Curse
