He’s a game she never intended to play.
And she’s the game changer he never knew he needed.
The Perfect Game tells the story of college juniors, Cassie Andrews & Jack Carter. When Cassie meets rising baseball hopeful Jack, she is determined to steer clear of him and his typical cocky attitude. But Jack has other things on his mind… like getting Cassie to give him the time of day. They’re both damaged, filled with mistrust and guarded before they find one another in this emotional journey about love and forgiveness.
Sometimes life gets ugly before it gets beautiful…
This is a Mature YA/New Adult book intended for audiences 17+
I started The Perfect Game around midnight last night figuring I’d read just until I fell asleep…well that turned into me staying up till 4:40 a.m. DEVOURING this book.
Because. I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. At all.
I loved Cassie, she’s smart, an amazing photographer, she’s funny and has mastered the art of sarcasm and witty banter when talking to a guy that she couldn’t decide on punching in the face or making out with lol.
I loved man whore Jack…I hated man whore Jack…when I loved him, he could do no wrong; he was the perfect reformed man whore turned sweet, devoted, faithful boyfriend to Cassie…when I hated him I wanted to reach thru my Kindle and choke the ever loving crap out of him.
I loved Melissa, Cassie’s BFF and roommate and Dean, Jack’s younger brother.
There was one character however who I HATED and I mean HATED like wished she cracked her teeth on a urinal as she fell in a puddle of herpes HATED!
I also loved that from time to time we got Jack’s POV too.
I can’t say enough how much I LOVED this story, I loved everything about it…Cassie’s sarcasm when dealing with Jack before and during their first date, I loved the first time Jack told Cassie he loved her, the love scenes between these two were the perfect amount of HOT 😉
Most of all what I loved is how Jenn gave us such amazingly real characters and a story you could throw yourself in like you’re a part of it and how she made me FEEL every emotion along with Cassie and Jack as I read along. When their relationship was great I was happy/excited right along with them…when their relationship was bad I was sickeningly heartbroken for Cassie, yelling at Jack myself asking how could he do this to us, yes us lol…she made me feel anxious and made my my heart beat faster with worry, wondering if things were going to work out between these two…I fell asleep thinking about this book, I dreamt about this book and I woke up still thinking about it!
I never thought I’d ever be able to say this but Beautiful Disaster has been bumped to my number 2 favorite book with The Perfect Game taking it’s place at number 1 for me.
Needless to say I’m giving The Perfect Game
