Review: Broken Promises by Belinda Boring

After reading Belinda’s Mystic Wolves series I had added Broken Promises to my TBR when the cover spoke to me…I mean who wouldn’t love a cover with a sexylicious man grabbing a redheads rear! (it doesn’t hurt that I’m a redhead so I just imagined it was me instead of Bri lol)

From Amazon:
What would you do if the man you loved became one of your greatest enemies? Would your love be enough to save him?

All Bri wanted to do was spend her Friday night with the man she loved and adored. Little did she know leaving her home would result in her relationship with Quinn being tested beyond its limits.

Fae have been organizing to invade Earth, and their devious plans are culminating now, colliding with Bri’s very existence. Using a powerful glamour, the Fae trigger each person’s violent tendencies, turning the streets into a battleground and strangers against each other. In a crushing blow, Quinn becomes affected and Bri finds herself battling to save her lover from himself as he stalks her relentlessly, taunting her at every turn.

But fighting for her love isn’t her only worry. As the battle ensues, Bri discovers a startling truth about her own heritage that she must come to terms with. She has no other choice but to fight, leading her to a confrontation that will change her world forever – and threaten to leave her with broken promises.

 My review:
Broken Promises is so much more than a pretty cover, it’s a story full of great characters and a story full of love, heartbreak and angst. What started out as a simple date between a couple so in love, ended in confusion and heartbreak when evil descends upon the city leaving Brianna confused as to what’s happening with everyone around her and and heartbroken as she realizes her beloved Quinn has succumbed to the evil surrounding them. My heart kept breaking for Bri as she was looking into the face of the man she loves so much only to realize the man she loves is now “gone”. Now for Quinn…I tell you Belinda really does know how to write a swoon worthy man like no ones business! I have to say I did fall a little for Quinn, when he was good he was great and even after the evil took over him I still liked him though he was behaving douchey…it really wasn’t him…

Belinda has definitely started her Brianna Lane series with a spellbinding tale full of mystery and magic that will captivate you from beginning to end, and leave you NEEDING more after a holy crap gasping ending!
